Fred Drewe, Ph.D. is a protein and chemical chemist with over 30 years of research and development experience, including extensive exposure to R&D in biological manufacturing environments. In his career, he has worked on protein isolation from virtually every source including humans, animals, plants, and microbial sources in batch sizes ranging from less than a single kilogram to over two tons. Dr. Drewe's work in protein isolation has served clinical researchers in reagent formulation, calibrator and control manufacturing, and antibody production. His technical expertise in handling proteins and his extensive chemistry background has also been applied in the development of reagents, calibrators, and controls in clinical diagnostic markets including TDM, drugs of abuse, cardiac and tumor, urine chemistry, and a variety of others.

Dr. Drewe is currently the R&D Director at Lee Biosolutions. He has served as a consultant to the company since 1994 when he formed his consulting company, Drewe Browning Strickler, Inc. Prior to starting the firm, he worked for Consolidated Technologies, owned by Fisher Scientific. From 1984 to 1991, Dr. Drewe worked for Aalto Scientific. He began his career as a research scientist and production supervisor in the Microbics Operation for Beckman Instruments and with ICN Radiochemicals.

Dr. Drewe received his B.S. in Biology from the University of California at Irvine. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California at Riverside.

Dr Drewe is currently an active member of the AACC, ACS, AAAS, ASQ, and AHA (American Homebrewers Association). He frequently attends a variety of seminars and annual meetings for these associations across the country.
